Hospital Patient Sitter.
The Patient Sitter, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, focuses on observation relating to maintaining the safety of the patient. This position does not require state licensure. The patient sitter will abide by the Union Hospital policies and procedures as they relate to the position. The patient sitter is responsible for contributing to the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic milieu, promptly reports safety concerns and pertinent observations to the RN. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with team members. This position requires employees to demonstrate initial and annual competencies in order to remain in the position. Other duties are performed as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent and/or related experience. Basic computer knowledge is recommended. Prolonged standing or sitting. Must have the ability and willingness to observe patients in various environments while maintaining a professional demeanor. Demonstrate ability to assist patient to the floor.
